In the Yaroslavl region, a freestyler was injured during a stage of the Russian Cup

The Russian Freestyle Cup competitions took place in Yaroslavl. The flying skiers were hosted by the Podolino ski center.
The ski center prepared the slopes and jumps in advance so that the “flying skiers” could perform at the highest level. But the weather let us down. On January 22, a squally wind prevented me from turning somersaults over the slope. And on January 23, dense snow began to fall, which also made it difficult to accurately calculate the speed of acceleration and landing. Perhaps this was the reason for the hard landing of the Moscow athlete Vasily Khlopotin. The young man was carried off the slope on a stretcher.
Maxim Burov and Lyubov Nikitina, students of the Yaroslavl freestyle school, became prize-winners of the competition. In total, the Yaroslavl team won 8 awards at the Russian Cup stage.
“Lyubov Nikitina and Maxim Burov became the leaders of the competition. In total, our athletes won eight awards, four of them of the highest standard. Congratulations to our guys and their coaches. There are still many significant competitions ahead that will take place in our region. On February 29 and March 1, we will organize the international tournament “Champions Cup,” – this is how the governor of the Yaroslavl region, Mikhail Evraev, commented on the sporting event.
