In the Voronezh region, officials paid 50 million rubles for uncompleted work on the construction of a sports complex

In Voronezh Kalach, the contractor missed the deadline for the construction of a sports complex on Privokzalnaya Street, 7A. The estimated cost of building a sports facility is 67.7 million rubles. At the same time, local authorities have already paid 50.7 million rubles for the work, as reported on Monday, October 16, by the All-Russian Popular Front (ONF) of the Voronezh region.

The contract for the construction of the sports complex was signed in the summer of 2022. 99% of the amount was allocated from the federal budget. The customer was the Municipal Public Institution “Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kalacheevsky Municipal District”.

By August 31, 2023, the contractor had to commission a sports complex for training boxers and weightlifters. In addition, the authorities promised Kalacheev residents to repair the road on Komsomolskaya Street adjacent to the facility.

Representatives of the All-Russian Popular Front visited the construction site and found out that construction and installation work was continuing in the sports complex building. The perimeter and thermal circuit have not yet been closed, and the engineering systems are also not ready. There are no workers at the construction site.

– The contractor is clearly in no hurry. According to our estimates, the delay behind schedule is already approaching six months. However, this did not stop the municipality from paying more than 50 million rubles for something that does not exist,” commented the head of the regional executive committee of the ONF, Alexander Goncharov.

It was not possible to find any signs of pretentious work on the State Procurement portal. Activists sent a statement to the prosecutor’s office and asked the government of the Voronezh region to take the facility under special control.
