In the Volgograd region announced a weekend in honor of the Stalingrad victory

In the Volgograd region, in honor of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Stalingrad victory in February, the governor of the region, Andrey Bocharov, announced an additional weekend. This was announced on Tuesday in the regional administration.

It is noted that February 1 and 2, 2023 were declared days off throughout the Volgograd region “at the suggestion of the residents of the Volgograd region” and at the initiative of veterans of the region.

“This will provide additional opportunities for our residents, together with their families, friends, relatives and close people, to take part in the events planned in the hero city of Stalingrad, in the Volgograd region,” said Bocharov, quoted by the press service.

Earlier it was reported that a temporary ban on the transit passage of trucks will be introduced in Volgograd from January 30 to ensure security during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. It will be valid until February 3rd.

On July 15, 2022, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree on the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the defeat of the Nazi troops by the Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad and the creation of a federal organizing committee headed by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
