The state of emergency (ES) was introduced due to a major fire in the village of Uspenka in the Tyumen region, said the head of the region, Alexander Moor. According to him, 18 buildings were damaged by fire, eight of them were residential buildings.
“Firefighters managed to stop the advance of the fire. But it’s still dangerous to be in Uspenka – very strong smoke, it’s hard to breathe, ”wrote the governor in Telegram. He added that today, May 5, he will meet with residents whose houses were damaged by fire to assess the extent of the damage.
The village of Uspenka is located 33 km from Tyumen. More than 200 people and 50 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. Yesterday, May 4, in the village evacuated 79 residents from 30 homes, as well as from a nursing home and an orphanage. The Ministry of Emergency Situations spoke about the threat of the fire spreading to neighboring settlements.
