Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that American authorities are putting pressure on companies from the United States that continue to operate in Russia, and “biased media” are also putting pressure on them. Despite this, according to the diplomat, some US business representatives remain highly interested in the Russian market.

“Due to numerous restrictions in the financial and trade spheres, economic operators are often simply unable to make the necessary payments for the supply of goods. Moreover, even for food and medicine, which, as the administration regularly tries to prove to us, are supposedly not affected by restrictions. Traditional logistics routes for delivering products have been cut off,” said a senior Russian diplomat (quoted by Telegram channel Russian Embassy in Washington).

Mr. Antonov also added that Russia remains completely open to interaction with foreign businessmen who are interested in continuing and maintaining their own presence in the domestic market. According to the ambassador, such intentions were expressed by a number of American companies (the diplomat did not disclose their names).

In June of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that representatives of Russian business are asking not to let back foreign companies that left Russia after the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine. However, according to him, if foreign firms that have left want to return, Russia will not close its doors to them and will create conditions for their work.
