32-year-old boxer Dmitry Bivol, who has already defended his world title twice against the strongest opponents in 2022, did not hide his emotions. “This is a huge honor,” he told reporters. “I am very happy and glad to know about it. I was interested in who received this award when I was a child, and now I have joined their number. I have forever entered the history of boxing. I am very proud of this and I am very proud of my team. I have the best team in boxing – my manager and my coach. I didn’t expect it, but after beating Ramirez, I thought I had a great year.”
Recall that the professional boxing match between the reigning WBA light heavyweight world champion Dmitry Bivol and the mandatory contender for the WBA light heavyweight title Gilberto Ramirez took place on November 5, 2022 in Abu Dhabi and ended with the victory of the Russian, which was given to him by unanimous decision of the judges.
