US Secretary of the Army Wormouth: Washington’s estimates on the use of ammunition in Ukraine turned out to be underestimated
The Ukrainian conflict showed that Washington’s estimates of the use of ammunition in armed conflicts turned out to be underestimated. This statement was made by US Secretary of the Army Christina Wormuth.
“I think that the war in Ukraine showed that our estimates for (use of) ammunition in future conflicts are low,” the minister said during a hearing in the US House of Representatives.
She noted that Washington continues to work with its partners and enterprises of the military-industrial complex in order to increase the production of ammunition in the future. According to her, this will help not only to provide assistance to Ukraine, but also to replenish their own reserves.
Wormouth added that the US Army is going to invest $1.5 billion in an industrial base to increase the rate of ammunition production.
