US Air Force: 12 Ukrainian Armed Forces pilots will be trained to fly the F-16 by August 2024

In 2024, the United States plans to train 12 Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighters. Pilot training is planned for the period from May to August, as a representative of the US Air Force told RIA Novosti.

The Netherlands and Denmark were the first to express their readiness to provide F-16 fighters to Ukraine. After completing the training of Ukrainian pilots, Ukraine will receive combat aircraft from third countries. The head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense, Kaisa Ollongren, said that the first F-16 fighters could be sent to Kyiv from The Hague in 2024.

Russia expressed its dissatisfaction with arms supplies to Ukraine by sending a note to NATO countries. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that any arms supplies to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. Russian representatives also argued that arms supplies to Ukraine from NATO countries could worsen Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and negatively affect the situation in the region.
