The central match of the third round of the RPL Ways group stage Fonbet Cup of Russia brought Spartak an unexpectedly easy victory over Dynamo at home. He guaranteed it to himself already in the middle of the first half, scoring four unanswered goals for Dynamo. The win with a score of 4:1 provided Spartak with a confident lead in the tightest quartet of the tournament. In another match of group D, Krasnodar, after two defeats in a row, defeated – 1: 0 – away to Paris Nizhny Novgorod.
The Moscow derby, which took place in the third round of the group stage of the Russian Cup, gave the tournament, already sparkling with all sorts of unexpected results, its main anomaly so far. When “Spartak” opened the scoring very quickly, his success was tempted to be attributed to the objective difficulties of the opponent, to the need to urgently adapt to the new scheme. Dynamo had just, literally before the match, sold Saba Sazonov to Torino, and coach Marcel Licka had to urgently figure out who to close the center of defense instead of him. Closed by Alexander Kutitsky, who has a minimum of experience in playing in the most important position. Kutitsky after filing on the right and jumped Alexander Sobolev.
But it soon became obvious that Dynamo Tuesday’s problems were much deeper, that something very unusual and terribly unpleasant was happening to the team. Well, or something extraordinary is happening with Spartak.
He almost completely updated the base after a boring game in the championship against Akhmat. And this Spartak version – with Ruslan Litvinov, Danila Prutsev, whom the club’s mentor Guillermo Abascal rarely trusts for some reason – somehow surprisingly easily tore Dynamo apart. That is, of course, this season Spartak has already shown that in a good mood its attack is capable of much, but here it simply mocked opponents. Already after his goal, Sobolev almost scored again: goalkeeper Igor Leshchuk, who got the ball in the corner, rescued the Dynamo team. Then the Dynamo defense, politely making way for the pushing Spartak team, left Mikhail Ignatov in front of the goal. The guests were lucky – Ignatov missed. But soon another pitch – from Jesus Medina – again reached Spartak’s head. Now it was the head of Srdjan Babić, a grenadier-sized footballer who convinced him that he knew how to use it with great sense.
Struck and Spartak sharpness, and monstrous softness Dynamo. It was the case when the confusion, the helplessness of one of the teams, although it seems to be no worse than the one that opposes it, just hurts the eye.
And Spartak punished them mercilessly. Anton Zinkovsky provided Sobolev with a double, cutting a backache into an absolutely free zone near the goalkeeper, and then, after a Dynamo sawn-off shotgun, he easily ran away from his pursuers, as if two-pound weights were tied to their legs in order to deal with Leshchuk under the curtain of a jerk. 4:0 in half time – such an incredible plot could hardly come to someone’s mind, who was waiting for the derby.
Marcel Lichka, of course, already in the first half began to change players, later releasing newcomers with the name Jorge Carrascal, Luis Chavez. And of course, in the end, Dynamo became like a decent team at the level of the highest domestic football division, and even in the second half, thanks to Mumi Ngamalyo, the score was soaked. But from the feeling that the metamorphoses took place largely due to the fact that Spartak, who had created a gigantic margin of safety, no longer really wanted to tear the veins, there was nowhere to go. The Spartak team won the Cup for the third time in a row, and after the first round, breaking away from Dynamo, the closest pursuer, by as much as five points, they actually guaranteed themselves access to the “upper” play-off bracket: the two best teams from the group get there.
Another match in this group developed according to a much more “normal” scenario. Pari Nizhny Novgorod was not particularly embarrassed by the fact that he was fighting with a club leading in the national championship, and he was quite convincing against Krasnodar.
Moreover, in the second half he had a 100% chance to open an account. Ruined Nizhny Novgorod loss of Lucas Masoero a few minutes before the final whistle. Olakunle Olasegun sent the ball into the penalty area, and there John Cordoba was already guarding her with his sniper flair. So Krasnodar, which started its performance in the Cup with defeats from Spartak and Dynamo, received its first three points in the tournament.
Two more cup matches took place on Tuesday. In group B “Rubin” at home coped – 2:1 – with “Ural”. In Group A, Orenburg defeated Fakel 1-0 on the road. Both Kazan and Orenburg scored their first points in the tournament thanks to these victories, sharpening the intrigue in their quartets.
