In the third quarter, the number of layoffs and employment of Russians reached a record

In July-September, 3.24 million Russians left large and medium-sized Russian enterprises. At the same time, 3.17 million were employed over the same period, follows from the results of a study of the audit and consulting network FinExpertiza. According to her, the layoffs and employment rates in the third quarter of 2022 reached a record high in the last ten years.
According to FinExpertiza, 78.2% (2.5 million people) of those who quit their jobs left of their own accord. By agreement of the parties, the employment contract was terminated by 7.2% (234.8 thousand people). Layoffs affected 26.6 thousand people – less than 1%. The difference between laid-off and employed workers amounted to 75.1 thousand people.
The largest outflow of personnel was recorded in the areas of trade, healthcare, social services, manufacturing, transportation and storage. The influx of employees was observed in the areas of education, energy, housing and communal services and construction.
The indicator of part-time employment at Russian enterprises in July-September 2022 exceeded the peak values of the pandemic and amounted to 4.66 million people. The number of part-time employees increased by 319 thousand people (+7.3%) compared to the same period in 2021.
In the third quarter of 2022, 3.3 million people went on vacation at their own expense. This is 6% more than in the same period of 2021. By agreement of the parties, 1.06 million people were employed part-time, at the initiative of the employer – 58.3 thousand people (58% more than in 2021). The number of citizens in idle time for the specified period increased by 67%, up to 239.8 thousand people.
