In the Sumy region of Ukraine, the SBU delayed Rector of the Church of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate. On charges of working for the FSB, he has already been arrested by a court decision.
The security service claims that he traveled around the border area and covertly filmed Ukrainian military installations. Then, through instant messengers, he transmitted to the Russians data on the deployment of defense forces for strikes. The priest also allegedly forwarded the data of local authorities and law enforcement officials.
It is reported that the abbot was detained while trying to transfer classified information about officials of military administrations to Russia.
The special service claims that the priest was recruited by the FSB last fall. He was suspected of treason because of his pro-Russian views, which the rector publicly voiced more than once.
