It is being renovated for the first time in a quarter of a century.

The lyceum was opened in the mid-90s. Initially, the educational institution was conceived as a copy of the Tsarsko-Selo Lyceum, where Pushkin studied. The idea of the school was also unusual – the unification of the peoples of the North Caucasus.

Until 2019, the school was called the South Russian Lyceum of the Cossacks and the peoples of the Caucasus. Subsequently, it was renamed the Lyceum of the Cossacks named after Anatoly Fedorovich Dyakov. Students here not only receive knowledge, but also live. Pupils go home only for the holidays. Many of them, having received a military-patriotic education, enter military schools and universities. The swimming pool at the lyceum is a special place.

The winners of regional and federal competitions are trained here. It took a year and a half to repair the pool with an area of one and a half thousand square meters, taking into account the amount of work. During this time, it will be completely repaired and replaced with new heating, water supply, water filtration, and air ventilation systems, which have worn out and become outdated over the past 25 years. The pool bowl is also waiting for reconstruction. The work is carried out in several stages. In the final, the wall of the sports facility will be decorated with the main symbol of the resort Zheleznovodsk – a pump-room mug.
