The very first store – and we immediately see a couple of customers trying on shoes with rather high heels. They do not need help at all, they are already confident in their choice. They spin near the mirrors and independently determine the choice. Consultants are free – and ready to answer questions.

The assortment is already hinting: no, no refusal of heels is planned. Here you are: high boots of a noble cappuccino color with high stable heels, elegant suede Cossacks with a glass heel … But still, it’s better to check with the seller: they say, are shoes with heels in demand?

– Of course, they take shoes with heels! Whoever is comfortable, each person, of course, individually, – the girl laughs, as if I asked something absurd. And really: just look at the customers, or rather, at their feet! – For some reason, the peak of popularity of heels falls on autumn. But even now, girls, you see, they are preparing for spring? I don’t think high heels are bad taste. I find it very beautiful and sexy and adds elegance to girls.

The saleswoman points to light spring boots – on a low, but heeled! It seems reckless to say that even a small heel in the capital will be a sign of bad taste.

– Buyers do not specify: why do they take it? On every day? Or for the holidays?

Mostly for the holidays. Mostly for the New Year, March 8 and corporate parties, – explains the seller. Here, it seems, is the answer: maybe today’s customers are preparing for March 8? – From the point of view of practicality, of course, a low heel is in great demand. It is more convenient for everyday life. Now wide heels are relevant for offices, under jeans and trousers. The leg will not get tired, and from the point of view of aesthetics, they are also very good. For the evening option, of course, a hairpin. She is more graceful.

In the next boutique, we were met by a friendly sales assistant, a man who gladly revealed the secrets. It can be seen that he is very passionate about his work and can really tell: what is currently in demand and what is not. It’s even more interesting: it’s no secret that many women choose clothes and shoes, trying to attract the attention of men, and in general, the male look always deserves attention … So, let’s ask him: how relevant is the heel this season? And how many centimeters of a heel can be called the optimal height – so that you can be in trend and not sacrifice convenience?

– There is a demand for high heels, but there are not so many similar models in the latest collections. The high heel is an elegant classic shoe. Now the trend is for rough, tractor soles, and the classics are presented in smaller quantities, but you can still find something suitable, – the seller-stylist, who introduced himself as Konstantin, willingly told us. – In general, shoes with heels are more often bought for the office, for events. Someone walks in heels every day, but this, of course, is a minority. Although shoes with a heel up to 10-11 cm, and with a thin heel, are always popular in fashion. They are present in every new collection and are in demand.

According to the male salesperson, Moscow still dictates its own rules: for everyday wear in our large and fast capital, shoes with flat, practical soles are more often purchased. For those who do not want to sacrifice elegance, classic pumps with a small heel are a great option.

We go to the next store – a small boutique of Italian-made shoes. A new collection immediately catches your eye here: spring-summer will be accompanied by neon colors – from bright green to deep blue and a rough thick sole with the widest heel, a la “hello from the past.” Consultants are by no means bored, and we see a slight smile on their faces.

– They take it, how they take it! And take high heels! – vying with each other tell the girls in uniform vests. – They dismantle models in the style of the 1960s and 70s. Now at the peak of the popularity of retro from the category of “my grandmother’s shoes.” Such models are taken for every day. By the way, not only young people – ladies aged 55-60 also pay great attention to them, they like it. They immediately put on their shoes and go about their business. Actual heel has always been, is and will be. Pointy toes are always in fashion: even if you look at magazines and photographs in them, stars and first ladies often wore shoes with a pointed toe. Pointed-toe heeled shoes and you’re in style in no time!

It seems that there is some kind of paradox: although everyone around is sadly saying that, they say, femininity and elegance are in the past, and Muscovites do not get out of sneakers, in fact, shoes with heels always remain in trends. Only the shape of the heel is changing – she spoke about this in an interview with an MK correspondent stylist-image maker Zhannat Idrisova:

– In the spring-summer season of 2023, shoes that evenly elevate us above the ground will not lose their relevance – sandals or sandals with such thick soles that they are all like a solid heel. The trend is heels with a height of 3 to 10 centimeters. The main thing is the figure, an unusual shape, it is worth paying attention to. For example, a thin heel that expands towards the bottom would be a good solution. Any patterns, reliefs or contrasting coloring on the outside of the heel are welcome. Very relevant “golden” heels.

The words of the expert are confirmed by practice: even in inexpensive shoe stores, not to mention prestigious boutiques, you can see shoes and sandals with heels in the form of shells, balls or giant pearls. Gilded heels are a beautiful solution, but it requires very careful wear: scratches and gold are incompatible!

“As for the thickness of the heel, the classic stiletto remains: this is a sign of sexuality, which is so necessary in the struggle for male attention,” Zhannat Idrisova continues. – The wide heel also does not lose ground, as if reminding us that in such a difficult time for everyone, we need to stay on our feet well. In general, spring will show how much the high feminine heel is in demand.

The choice of today’s customers makes it clear that heels in modern Moscow, no matter what anyone says, are still relevant. Stiletto lovers are alive even in the era of sneakers – and neither trends nor the weather will put them on the bandwagon. In the end, in extreme cases, there is a wedge that can lift the figure by a couple of centimeters and not harm the legs.
