The authorities of the Irkutsk region introduced a rabies quarantine on the territory of SNT in Bratsk

According to the decree of the head of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev, quarantine was introduced on the territory of the Yubileiny SNT in Bratsk due to a case of rabies. This was announced on Sunday in the government of the region.

It is reported that the owner of the cat went to the veterinary station on June 28 with an animal that showed signs of rabies, and the next day the cat died. On June 30, the disease was laboratory confirmed.

Specialists of the veterinary service have disinfected the epizootic focus and are taking preventive measures. In horticulture, where the animal was brought from, 473 sites were examined. By the morning of July 1, 74 dogs and cats had been vaccinated.

Specialists of the veterinary department talked to each animal owner and explained the need for vaccination as the only way to prevent this dangerous infectious disease.

Also, a case of rabies in the wild in the Angara region was recently registered. In the Ust-Ilimsk region, not far from the village of Sedanovo, where rabies was previously confirmed in a domestic dog, a dead sable was found on the road. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of rabies in the animal. The road section and the surrounding area were treated.
