Governor of the Pskov region Mikhail Vedernikov signed a decree banning the launch of civilian unmanned aerial vehicles in the region from May 5. The exception is UAVs, which are used by decision of the authorities, as well as for monitoring objects, in particular, pipelines, railway transport.
“In a legal sense, the decision was made on the basis of Presidential Decree No. 757 and will be in effect until the abolition of the basic readiness regime,” Mikhail Vedernikov wrote in his Telegram channel. We are talking about decree Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 19 on response levels, according to which the heads of the 59 regions of the country should take the necessary measures to strengthen the protection of public safety.
Today, May 3, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin informedthat the use of drones is prohibited in the city (with the exception of UAVs, which are used by the authorities). Shortly after the statement of the mayor of the capital, the press service of the President of Russia reported about an attempt by Ukrainian drones to attack the Kremlin residence of Vladimir Putin last night.
Following Moscow, launching drones was banned in Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. In several regions, the restriction on the launch of UAVs has been in effect since the fall of 2022 in connection with presidential decree No. 757.
