In the Orenburg region, 522 people turned to doctors for help due to floods

The authorities of the Orenburg region reported that 522 people sought medical help in the flood zone. Another 659 local residents required psychological assistance.

“There are 70 emergency medical teams in the emergency zone, which provided assistance to 552 victims. Additionally, in the event of evacuation measures, 383 beds have been deployed,” the press service of the governor and the regional government reported in Telegram channel.

The total number of evacuees from the flood zone reached almost 16.5 thousand people. Of these, 1,091 residents, including 219 children, were located in temporary accommodation centers.

The government press service also reported that the water level in the Ural River dropped by 5 cm, to 1182 cm. Almost 13.5 thousand residential buildings and 20.6 thousand household plots remain flooded. Power supply has been disrupted in four settlements.

Due to large-scale flooding in the Orenburg region, a federal emergency has been in effect since April 7. Damage from flooding is preliminary is assessed 40 billion rubles, 40% of flooded houses cannot be restored.
