Residents of the Odessa region were urged to refrain from visiting the Black Sea coast. This was announced by the head of the regional military administration Oleg Kipera in the Telegram channel.
“I urge residents of the Odessa region to refrain from walking along the coast and along the beaches,” Kipera said.
According to him, due to the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, a lot of garbage got into the sea from the Dnieper, mines and ammunition, as well as fragments of buildings and trees, have already been found in the water area. The situation is under control, services are working to eliminate the consequences.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor said that once every two days, experts will study the state of the sea water of the Black Sea coast in the Kherson region and in the Crimea.
The breakthrough of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station occurred on the night of June 6. As a result of the incident, an uncontrolled discharge of water began, the level of which reached more than 11 m. A local emergency regime was introduced on the territory of the district, and an emergency regime was also introduced on the territory of the Kherson region.
The authorities of the Kherson region have previously expressed similar fears.
