All measures to eliminate the consequences of a drone attack on a military airfield in the city of Soltsy, Novgorod Region, have been completed, declared Acting head of the Solets municipal district Maxim Timofeev in his Telegram channel.
“At the moment, all measures to eliminate the consequences [атаки БПЛА] completed, nothing threatens the civilian population and infrastructure. All organizations are working as usual,” Timofeev said in a video message.
Ukrainian military on the morning of Saturday, August 19, attacked with the help of a copter-type drone, a military airfield in the Novgorod region, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported earlier. According to the military, the drone was detected by the crew of the external observation post of the airfield, it was shot down from small arms. As a result, a fire broke out in the aircraft parking lot on the territory of the airfield. The fire was eliminated, the fire damaged one of the aircraft. There were no casualties, according to the Ministry of Defense.
Andrey Nikitin, Governor of the Novgorod Region, confirmed the attack on the airfield, specifying that all necessary security measures had been taken.
