Seven residents of the village of Kazachinsky, Kazachinsky-Lensky district, Irkutsk region, were evacuated from their homes to temporary accommodation centers due to the rise in the level of the Kirenga River. According to the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, at the middle of the day on August 21, the river level in the village of Kazachinsky is 286 cm, with a critical level of 250 cm.
“In the village of Ulkan, the river level is 426 cm, while the critical level is 430 cm. In the district, 53 household plots were flooded in five settlements, as well as five houses in which 10 people live. Among the seven evacuees were five children. Rescue units continue to be on duty in the area. Residents are provided with targeted assistance, ”specifies press office departments.
In the Kazachinsko-Lensky district, two settlements remain without road communication: Nizhnemartynovo and Tarasovo. Boat crossings operate on flooded sections of roads.
According to forecasts, during August 21, the water level will continue to rise on the Kirenga River. In the area of the village of Ulkan up to 425-450 cm with a critical level of 430 cm, in the area of the village of Kazachinskoe up to 280-300 cm with a critical level of 250 cm. In this regard, flooding of low areas of the terrain of these settlements is expected.
