In the Moscow region, a drunk man burned down three buildings worth 93 million rubles

The Investigative Committee of Shatura near Moscow has completed an investigation into the case of a 33-year-old local resident, accused of setting fire to three buildings and previously convicted more than once for theft and intentional damage to other people’s property. This was reported by the press services of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia near Moscow, quoted by Lenta.ru.
According to the investigation, at the end of winter, a man intoxicated broke a window and entered the premises of a furniture workshop in the village of Shaturtorf. Using matches, he set fire to things that were in the building and then disappeared.
As a result of the fire, equipment worth more than 42 million rubles was damaged. A couple of days later, the defendant also set fire to the house management building and the House of Culture. Through his actions, the rowdy caused damage amounting to over 93 million rubles.
The Russian was promptly detained and taken into custody. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 167 (“Intentional destruction or damage to property”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The case materials were transferred to the Shatura City Court for further consideration.
