In the Kursk region will not hold a Victory parade on May 9, declared Governor Roman Starovoit at an operational meeting.

“It was decided not to hold a military parade on the territory of the Kursk region on May 9, given the current situation,” he said (quote according to RIA Novosti).

Starovoit explained this decision by measures to strengthen anti-terrorist measures in the region, which were agreed upon last week. The governor promised to inform about the format in which the action “Immortal Regiment” will take place later.

April 5 Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported about the cancellation of the Victory Parade in Belgorod, in order “not to provoke the enemy with a large accumulation of equipment and military personnel” in the city center. According to him, at the next meeting of the regional operational headquarters, the issue of holding fireworks on May 9, the procession of the Immortal Regiment and celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Prokhorov battle will be considered.

In the Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as in six other regions, there is a “medium response” regime, entered in October by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Within the framework of this regime, regional and local authorities can carry out individual measures for territorial defense, civil defense, protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies. In addition, the authorities will receive the authority to implement measures to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other troops, military formations, bodies and the needs of the population.

Both regions also have a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat. The territory of the Kursk region is periodically subjected to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. So, April 5 Starovoit reported about the shelling of the environs of the village of Gordeevka, as a result of which three settlements were left without electricity. On the night of April 1, the Armed Forces of Ukraine dropped an explosive device from a drone on the roof of the House of Culture in the border village of Dronovka. As a result of the incident, no one was injured, but the fragments slightly damaged the windows and facades of the nearby buildings of the feldsher-obstetric center and the village council.
