In the Kursk region, the builders of fortifications on the border with Ukraine were paid wage arrears after they applied to the governor. Alexey Dedov, deputy head of the region, spoke about this at a meeting in the regional government.

According to him, about 42 contractors are working on the construction of fortifications. Due to subcontracting agreements with one of them, there were difficulties with the calculations. At the moment, the money has been paid to the employees, consultations have been held with them, Mr. Dedov emphasized. Governor Roman Starovoit asked his subordinate to keep the situation under personal control.

Last week on social media appeared an anonymous appeal to the governor about the debts that arose in February to the builders involved in the work, who were allegedly promised 5 thousand rubles each. in one working day. In total, almost 4.5 thousand people are involved in the construction of fortifications in the Kursk region. Approximately the same number of people worked in similar jobs in the Belgorod region, where, according to the Minister of Construction Oksana Kozlitina, almost 10 billion rubles were spent on construction.

The authorities announced the construction of fortifications on the border with Ukraine last fall. Governor of the Kursk region, for example, published then photographs of the built dugout, which was part of one of the two reinforced lines of defense.
