On the morning of December 14, mass blackouts began in the Kursk region due to snow sticking and broken wires, said the governor of the region, Roman Starovoit. The most serious blackouts were recorded in Oboyansky, Shchigrovsky, Zolotukhinsky and Kursk districts. Breaks in wires occurred in other parts of the region.
“In the morning, massive blackouts began in the region due to snow sticking and broken wires. In the last hour, the situation worsened,” Starovoit wrote in his Telegram.
He said that now in the Kursk region about 35 thousand people remain without electricity. Accidents are eliminated by 74 teams of Kursk specialists and electricians from other cities.
The governor noted that almost 300 units of equipment are working on federal and regional roads, about 6 thousand tons of anti-icing materials were used overnight. Only in Kursk, 77 vehicles were involved at night. Yard cleaning is carried out by 953 people and 56 units of special equipment.
