In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a schoolboy filmed a cruel video with the participation of his great-grandmother

There is a big scandal in the village of Bolshoy Serezh, Krasnoyarsk Territory. There, one smiling boy “streamed” his great-grandmother and posted “videos” on the Internet. The boy was filming a 90-year-old woman, clearly against her will; from the video it is clear that she does not like what is happening. In the nth video leaked to the social network, law enforcement agencies became interested in the story of the filming.

“Stop it, that’s enough, go away! Mother beats and you beat…” moans the grandmother, on whose face the caring public saw bruises. The story is widely discussed, social networks are in full swing, the videos are taken under control by member of the Public Chamber Ekaterina Mizulina, Big Seryozha is frapped like never before. After all, so far only good things are known about the boy’s family. They don’t drink, they don’t hit, they don’t fight in the streets. “A normal, strong family,” the neighbors are surprised. A woman with a child, stepfather and grandmother.

Looking at the video with a cold nose, which is not easy, you understand that there is no particular crime. The notorious bruises can be caused by problems with blood vessels in an elderly person. And even “you hit and mom hits” can be manifestations of dementia.

Everything that can actually be seen in the videos fits into the concept of “trash streaming.” Although the real stream is a live broadcast, the rest of the boy acts exactly like this: he deliberately “brings” his grandmother to the camera and, with a slight curse, records the result. The nastier the video, the more views it gets. And then, as usual, share, like, donate. And, if there are a lot of subscribers, then commercial advertising.

On one side of the camera, it turns out that the tribe is young and truly unfamiliar, the first generation of gadgets in history. And on the other side of the screen is a very elderly woman. Which was born at a time when there were not even regular telephones, at least in rural areas.

At all times, attitudes towards very old people have been ambiguous. Take the story about the peoples of the north, striving to send the “extra mouth” on the last journey on the ice floe. Or, again, from Orwell we can recall Benjamin’s donkey, who instead of a hospital ended up in a slaughterhouse. At the end of Animal Farm, not the one on the phone.

On the other hand, there were French kings who demonstrably went to wash the feet of old people. Or Francis of Assisi patronized the poor, and our defender of the orphaned and wretched, Saint John of Kronstadt…

People who have survived beyond their strength, and sometimes beyond their wits, have been and remain the object of mercy and charity. Let us recall workhouses and hospices, almshouses, and the Moscow etymology of the word “House of God.” And then they are the main targets of fraud. From the thief Alchen from Ilf and Petrov to the present day. When scammers went online, they use mobile phones with all their might and are not shy. Entirely “FSB majors” and “chiefs of bank security departments” are sitting in zones.

Speaking about helplessness, I remembered the old woman Ursula from “One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Marquez. Once upon a time, the whole family rested on it: around war, revolution, dictatorship – Latin America, you need to understand. But by 90, the indestructible Ursula weakened, sometimes even falling into unconsciousness. And the children began to play with their great-grandmother like a doll – they smeared her cheeks, dressed her up like a mummy. Somehow they forgot in the dampness and the old lady’s whole side ended up covered in leeches…

And, one wonders, where were the countless Buendia, Aureliano, José Arcadio and others at that time? Were busy. Life for active adults is not easy – even in distant Macondo, even in Seryozha in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. And the children are the same too. They are neither good nor bad. Although there is a difference: one student volunteers, for example, another makes streams about his grandmother. But the first thing, as a rule, happens together with the parents. Following their example. At the age of 11, there are no firm moral principles yet; they are being formed. But there is a phone, and there are a lot of significant bloggers on it – also as an example.

There is a common phrase that the well-being of society is characterized by the condition of the elderly and children. And then a stream with an old lady is a great symbol. A clear example of “care” for the elderly, for children of war, for whom in the regions they are not even trying to pay off the “unpaid debt”, at least with money. No normal hospitals or boarding schools were built for them. In the same videos from Big Seryozha we see children left to their own devices. And a reflection of the priorities of adults.
