In 2023, a residential building in which the Soviet gymnast, Olympic champion and world champion Pavel Stolbov lived will be renovated in the Khoroshovsky district of Moscow
The nine-story building, erected in 1955 according to an individual project in the style of Soviet neoclassicism, will undergo a renovation of the facade. To preserve the historical appearance, an individual work project was developed.
“We have developed a unique project for the preservation of house No. 15, Building 2, Kuusinen Street, which takes into account all the features of this extraordinary house. It is important to preserve the beauty of the architecture of our city. Specialists have selected high-quality domestic materials and modern technologies. A house with more than half a century of history will gain a second life,” said Vladimir Kozhichenkov, Deputy General Director of the FCR of Moscow.
Renovation of the facade of the building will begin with cleaning the surfaces of ceramic blocks and bricks. Next, all weathered seams and destroyed brickwork will be restored. Wet places will be treated with an antifungal compound, then the walls of the house will be hydrophobized and a fresh paint coating will be applied. Next, it is necessary to repair the entrance groups and balconies, install new ebbs and drainpipes.
“We will pay great attention to the preservation of architectural decoration. Let’s repair interstorey belts, window architraves, entrance portals, a stucco molding. For additional fragmentation, we will use laser scanning, as this technology helps to determine the size of losses as accurately as possible,” said Vladimir Kozhichenkov.
As explained in the press service of the FCR, the building has a simple shape in terms of. However, adjacent houses of the same style adjoin its ends, together they form a whole architectural and artistic volume. The outer facade is lined with ceramic block. The plasticity of the façade is determined by the grouped protrusions of the bay windows that extend to the entire height of the building. An additional volume of the house is given by interfloor multi-profile cornices with massive friezes. The windows of the first floor are highlighted with semi-arched architraves. Portals with cornices and modules adorn the entrance groups of the courtyard façade.
The Moscow Capital Improvement Program is one of the largest housing modernization projects not only in Russia, but in the world. The program includes more than 28,500 houses with a total area of more than 275 million square meters. m, in which it is planned to repair more than 355 thousand engineering systems and structural elements of buildings and replace more than 112 thousand elevators.
To clarify the timing and types of work under the overhaul program, so-called short-term implementation plans are drawn up. For 2021-2023, such a plan has already been approved. It included 4437 houses of the capital with a total area of 34.2 million square meters. In 2023, repairs will begin in 2.3 thousand houses.
