In the Kherson region they said that the Russian Federation has invested more in the region than Kyiv in 30 years

Over the past year, Russia has invested more in the Kherson region than Ukraine has invested in 30 years, said the head of the administration of the Kherson region, Andrei Alekseenko.

“It must be said that the Kherson region has not seen such a scale of construction and overhaul of roads, schools, hospitals, and communal infrastructure since Soviet times. This year, Russia has invested more in the Kherson region than the Ukrainian regime over the past three decades,” he told RIA Novosti.

The region is changing thanks to the program of socio-economic development for the years ahead, which was developed on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, Alekseenko added. According to him, some of the activities are being implemented jointly with the government.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed agreements on the inclusion of new territories into Russia with the heads of the DPR and LPR, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. In September of this year, elections of heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation were held in new regions according to Russian legislation, and the head of state signed a law on the celebration of September 30 as the Day of Reunification of New Regions with Russia.

In January, First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko spoke about the interest of investors in investing in the development of a new city in the Kherson region. Previously, President Putin ordered the construction of a city in the Genichesk district of the region – on the Arabat Spit. During election Vladimir Saldo, the governor of the region, Kiriyenko called on “to boldly move forward and develop the infrastructure” of the Kherson region as much as possible, and also noted that “colossal financial resources are being invested in new regions.”
