In the Kherson region, saboteurs preparing terrorist attacks were detained

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kherson region managed to neutralize a group of saboteurs who were planning terrorist attacks in Kherson, reported department in its Telegram channel.
“In the course of carrying out operational and combat measures aimed at ensuring public safety on the eve of the referendum, the security forces discovered and neutralized a sabotage and reconnaissance group on the territory of Kherson that planned to carry out terrorist acts on civilian infrastructure facilities,” the report says.
Four saboteurs were detained, another resisted and was killed, the Interior Ministry added. The attacks were prepared in order to disrupt the events for holding a referendum on joining the region to Russia.
Earlier today, Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the pro-Russian military-civilian administration (VGA) in the region declared on the prevention of provocations by sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Ukrainian military in the Kherson region on the eve of the referendum. According to him, saboteurs tried to undermine power lines.
On September 20, the Public Council of the Kherson region turned to the head of the CAA with a request to hold a referendum on the region’s entry into Russia as soon as possible. On the same day, the dates for holding referendums in the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LNR and DNR), Zaporozhye and Kherson regions were approved. They will be held from 23 to 27 September.
