On July 23, the Ukrainian military fired a HIMARS missile at the house of Georgy Zhuravko, head of the city of Alyoshka, Kherson region. Vladimir Vasilenko, spokesman for the region’s acting governor, told TASS about the assassination attempt.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the house of Georgy Zhuravko at the moment when he was not in the building. The house is destroyed. Specialists found fragments of the HIMARS missile at the site, ”- said He.

In July last year, the head of the administration of Veliky Burluk, Kharkiv region, Yevgeny Yunakov, died, his car was undermined. At the end of May, an attempt was made on the life of the mayor of Energodar, Zaporozhye region, Andriy Shevchik. An explosive device went off in the entrance of Shevchik’s house, he and his bodyguard were wounded. On May 30, a car was blown up in the center of Melitopol, as a result of the terrorist attack, two volunteers who were engaged in providing humanitarian assistance in Melitopol and the Melitopol region were injured.

On June 21, 2022, an assassination attempt was made on the head of the village of Chernobaevka, Kherson region, Yury Turulev. According to him, a high-explosive shell went off on the road along which he was driving to work. Turulev received shrapnel wounds and concussion.

On June 28 last year, the deputy head of the temporary civil administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, announced the death of the head of the family, youth and sports department, Dmitry Savluchenko, as a result of a terrorist attack. According to him, the explosion occurred when Savluchenko got into the car. Stremousov himself died in a car accident in November.

In addition, in August last year, an attempt was also made on the new mayor of Mariupol, Konstantin Ivashchenko, the official was not injured. The territory of the Mariupol zoo was called the place of the assassination attempt. In December, when a car was blown up died the head of the village of Lyubimovka, Kakhovka district, Kherson region, Andrei Shtepa, before that, the first vice-governor of the region, Vitaly Bulyuk, was wounded.
