In the Kherson region allowed to use the Ukrainian language for office work

Volodymyr Saldo, acting head of the Kherson region, signed a decree recognizing Russian, Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar as official languages.

“On the eve of June 12, the Day of Russia, I signed a decree according to which, in the territory of the Kherson region, along with the Russian language, for communication and office work, the Ukrainian language can be used, and in the territory of the Genichesk and Novotroitsky districts, also the Crimean Tatar language,” – wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

According to the document, languages ​​can be used in the work of state bodies, organizations, enterprises and institutions, including the preparation of documents, appeals, etc. It is specified that the decree is being introduced in accordance with the law “On the Languages ​​of the Peoples of the Russian Federation”.

April 20 Balance declaredthat education in the schools of the Kherson region will be conducted in Russian and Ukrainian, and in the same Genichesk and Novotroitsky districts – in the Crimean Tatar. He noted that every person should have the opportunity to learn “both their native language and any other.”

In March, the Minister of Education and Science of the Zaporozhye region, Elena Shapurova, announced that the study of the Ukrainian language in the schools of the region would no longer be mandatory from the new academic year. At the same time, she noted that the children in the workload will have nine hours of the compulsory course of the Russian language and literature.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in the fall of 2022 called attempts to ban the Ukrainian language and culture in the Russian Federation unlawful. Then he recalled that this language is one of the state languages ​​in Crimea (along with the Crimean Tatar and Russian).
