Ukrainian soldiers who lay down their arms and refuse to fight against the Russian Armed Forces will be able to return to their families. This was reported in the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the Kharkiv region, transmits TASS.
“The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who refused to participate in hostilities against the Russian army will be able to return to their families. This is already a fairly common practice, ”the press service of the regional CAA said.
The first Ukrainian military in the Kharkiv region, who laid down their arms, have already been allowed to return home. About it informs correspondent of the RIA Novosti agency, who spoke with former soldiers.
It is noted that the military is released on the condition that they live in the liberated territories and are not involved in war crimes.
During the Russian special operation in Ukraine, a part of the Kharkiv region passed under the control of Russian troops and forces of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). As Vitaly Ganchev, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, reported, about 20% of the region is under the control of the allied forces.
After the start of the special operation, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the Ukrainian military to lay down their arms and not follow the orders of the Kyiv authorities. The Russian leader clarified that the soldiers who fulfilled these conditions would be able to freely leave the combat zone.
