The release of Nastya Ivleeva’s show “Agent Show”, in which she invited journalist Alena Zhigalova to eat a boiled guinea pig, is propaganda of cruelty to animals, which requires punishment, – in an interview with “Gazeta.Ru” Vladimir Burmatov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Parliament Committee on Ecology, expressed this opinion.

“Most of the people who watched this nonsense and this rubbish, this is indecency, for them a guinea pig is a pet,” the parliamentarian said. – … A guinea pig is not a steak and not a sausage, not a cutlet.

Burmatov believes that such things should be punished as propaganda of cruelty to animals. He said that he sent a bill to the government to introduce liability for the promotion of cruelty to animals in order to eliminate “this legislative gap.” He hopes that the Cabinet will give a positive review, and then the deputies will be able to adopt the bill in the fall.

Users criticized the issue with Zhigalova, in which the guest ate a boiled guinea pig, and accused blogger Ivleeva of animal cruelty. This edition of the “Agent Show” was later removed from the Web. The blogger in her social networks apologized to the audience – “it was unethical, went beyond.” Ivleeva also noted that the animal was delivered frozen from a specialized store.
