As a result of the shelling by the armed forces of Ukraine of the village of Shebekino, Belgorod region, a transformer at a local substation was damaged. There was a fire at the transformer. More than 2,000 people have been disconnected from electricity. This was announced by the Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“The substation transformer was damaged by shells. More than 2,000 residents have now been cut off from electricity. There are no victims or injured,” Mr. Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
Mr. Gladkov added that his deputy, the head of the Shebekinsky district, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the police and other operational services had left for the scene. According to him, the authorities will restore power supply as soon as possible.
On October 9, the Russian FSB reported that the number of shelling of border areas by Ukraine had increased. According to the agency, over seven days, 32 settlements in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions were subjected to more than 100 attacks.
