In the 442nd District Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense in St. Petersburg, Russian servicemen were awarded the first cash certificates for knocked out Western tanks from Russian pop stars, RT reports.
Earlier, the soloist of the Zemlyane group Vladimir Kiselyov came up with this initiative, later it was supported by such performers as Nikolai Baskov and Grigory Leps. It was decided that for each destroyed tank produced by NATO countries (Leopard or Abrams), the Russian military would be issued monetary certificates.
As reported, a total of 4 certificates were awarded, of which two – for one million rubles, and two – for 700 thousand rubles.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that this year Western countries will send Ukraine 250 tanks, which will include 120 German Leopards and 31 American Abrams. Shoigu emphasized that the supply of military equipment by the West to Kyiv would not significantly affect the course of the special military operation. He also added that the Russian army managed to destroy 18 of the 109 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles that were delivered to Ukraine.
