In Sochi, almost 900 karatekas will perform at the Caucasus Cup

The Caucasus Karate Cup (0+) starts in Sochi tomorrow, March 23. Teams representing 28 Russian regions will take part in it. About 870 athletes are expected, reports resort administration.

The Krasnodar Territory team included Sochi residents Eduard Gasparyan and Maxim Golenkov.

The Cup received the status of an all-Russian competition in 2012. And now for the first time it will be held at the Yug Sports sports complex.

“Participants will be able to feel the atmosphere of the Russian national team’s preparation,” said Anatoly Miroshnikov, director of the department of physical culture and sports in Sochi.

The program includes competitions in four age categories (from 12 years to 18+ years) in 35 weight categories.
