In Sevastopol, they decided not to hold a parade in honor of Victory Day on May 9. This was announced by the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.
“We received information from the Commander of the Black Sea Fleet last night that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation decided not to hold a parade in the city of Sevastopol, based on this, all training plans will be revised,” said the governor (quote according to TASS).
On April 12, the decision to cancel the parade in honor of Victory Day was announced by the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov. Then he said that the parade was also canceled in Sevastopol, but Razvozhaev denied Aksenov’s words.
Earlier, in some Russian regions, they announced the cancellation of events in honor of Victory Day. The interim head of the annexed Kherson region Vladimir Saldo explained the decision not to hold the parade due to the decree on martial law.
Also, cancellations occurred in the border regions – the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, was the first to announce the decision not to hold the Victory Parade in order “not to provoke the enemy with a large accumulation of equipment and military personnel in the center of Belgorod.” The governor of the Kursk region, Roman Startovoit, also announced the cancellation of the celebration.

It was proposed to involve public transport services, taxis, etc., in the action.
