According to the publication, medical certificates that are issued to drivers on the basis of passing the commission are proposed to be converted into electronic form. They will be stored in the database of the Ministry of Health, from where the information will be taken by the traffic police.
Another amendment involves a ban on the admission of Russians to drive buses (category D) and minibuses (category D1) if a person has not driven a car or truck for at least a year.
In addition, it is proposed to oblige foreigners to change their national driver’s license to Russian no later than one year after they receive a residence permit or citizenship of the Russian Federation.
