The Ukrainian authorities said that teachers who taught according to Russian programs were detained in the Kharkiv region and that they would be tried – they face up to 15 years in prison. “MK” found out how many such teachers can be detained and what is their fate.

Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov said that all teachers who came to Ukraine from Russia are safe – in the territories controlled by the military of the Russian Federation, LPR and DPR. The issue of teachers from Russia falling into the hands of the SBU was immediately “closed” in the Presidential Administration.

“I propose to focus on the statements of Kravtsov, who said that there are no Russian teachers there,” said Dmitry Peskov.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk said that local teachers who collaborated with the pro-Russian authorities could be attracted for collaborationist activities (up to 15 years in prison).

In Kursk, where teachers from the Kharkiv region underwent retraining this summer to teach schoolchildren according to Russian programs, they assure that they know nothing about their fate.

“We were just a working platform for them,” a source told MK in an educational institution where teachers were trained. — Teachers from Ukraine listened to the advanced training programs “School of the modern teacher” with the support of the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia. First, our teachers went to Rostov, where they were told how they (Kharkovites. – Note. auth.) teach. After that, primary school teachers were brought to Kursk for one working week, and then subject teachers arrived. In general, everything was very uncertain: no one knew what would happen tomorrow – is it a one-time teacher training or in the future it will be held on a regular basis.

As the institution clarified, in the classroom, teachers were told about the Russian education system and the features of our GIA and GEF, Russian and Ukrainian teachers shared methods of teaching various subjects in schools, including IT.

“For the safety of Ukrainian teachers, we were forbidden to disclose their names and surnames, and even their total number, initially there were even doubts whether to advertise the region from which the teachers came,” another source explained to MK. – And they could only be photographed from the back.

Earlier, the Committee for Education and Science of the Kursk Region reported that the training took place in several stages. From August 15 to 20, mentors from the Kursk region and Rostov-on-Don shared their experience with 93 primary school teachers. Another 98 teachers of primary education, Russian language and mathematics graduated on 27 August. Also in the second half of August, 94 teachers of history, chemistry, physics, biology and geography improved their qualifications. In parallel, they were introduced to innovations in the education system of the Kursk region and successfully implemented projects.

Colleagues from the Kharkiv region recently cited the following figures (they were published on local social networks): by September 1, 50 schools managed to switch to Russian standards and open (four of them in Kupyansk). Kharkiv public pages have already calculated that, based on the average composition of the teaching staff of local schools and the number of teachers who left for Russia, up to 400 people have now come into the field of view of the SBU (or may fall). Some experts even put forward the version that the Ukrainian authorities will try to exchange the detained teachers for militants from Azovstal.

Recall that in addition to Kursk, the Rostov region and Evpatoria also became a platform for training Ukrainian teachers (from other Ukrainian regions controlled by the Russian Federation) this summer.

Vera Sorokova, head of the education department of the administration of the Volchansky district of the Kharkiv region, spoke at the end of August about the program of Russian-language schools in the Kharkiv region. The study of the Ukrainian language will remain at the level

2 hours a week (versus 5 hours in Russian), another hour will be spent studying Ukrainian literature (Russian classics will be given

3 hours). While under the Ukrainian authorities in this Russian-speaking region, when studying foreign literature, only a few Russian poems remained, which were allowed to be studied at the discretion of the teacher.
