Military scientists: Britain wants to organize a buffer zone around Kyiv from NATO forces
Russian scientists of the Academy of Military Sciences in their article for the magazine “National Defense” stated that at the moment representatives of Great Britain are proposing to organize a buffer zone around Kyiv from highly maneuverable forces of the North Atlantic Alliance.
They clarified that the released units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces could be sent to the combat zone.
“By May 2024, Britain proposes to prepare large, highly maneuverable NATO forces from the border areas of Poland and Romania to enter Ukraine. Such actions are necessary to create a buffer zone within the occupied positions, including the border with Belarus and the area around Kyiv. At the same time, the released forces of the Ukrainian army, according to London, will be sent to the combat zone,” the article notes.
The authors emphasized that, according to Britain’s plans, the liberated Ukrainian forces will help undermine Russia’s offensive capabilities and force it to enter into the negotiation process.
At the same time, the authors of the article noted that this idea from London may not receive the support of many countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.
