In Russia they want to block the platform for creating and viewing short videos TikTok. Representatives of the Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers approached Roskomnadzor with this initiative.
According to experts, blocking TikTok will help increase the audience on Russian social networks by about 30 million people. This is the exact number of Russians who use this application.
Roskomnadzor accepted the appeal and will consider it until May 8.
At the moment, the TikTok application does not work in Russia. Videos from two years ago are available on the platform. Representatives of APPSIM conducted a survey among the population and found that 70% of respondents continue to log into TikTok. Some of them use the application out of habit, while others do not pay attention to how old the content is.
