In Russia, they decided to cancel the exam: why our education is being destroyed by amateurs

By profession, Nilov has never been a teacher, but a computer scientist, “Zhirinovsky’s chick” from the age of 15. Why not offer him a project to develop modern domestic computers or smartphones, in which he is certainly an expert?

How can you lobby for something that, apparently, you don’t understand very well? In Russia – it’s easy!

Maybe his son also asked, as recently the offspring of Vice Speaker Davankov asked him to cancel homework in schools? And he, in all seriousness, submitted this proposal for consideration.

Breaking is not building, of course. Destroying the exam is elementary, you only need three readings, but what in return? Pulling out tickets in the hope of getting lucky, like their grandparents did? And this is definitely a more informative exam, which will reflect the “real knowledge” of students, according to Mr. Nilov?

Look, in the usual average exam in mathematics, both for C students and for excellent students, which our generation once passed, there were only five tasks, and one was complicated, that is, in fact, it was a regular test for everyone, so that any graduate, even the most lagging behind, was not left without a certificate.

In the profile mathematics exam, for a second, there were 18 tasks. In the first part, students need to complete 11 tasks with a short answer, in the second – 7 tasks with a fully detailed explanation. Questions with a short answer in the first part of the exam require the entry of an integer or a final decimal fraction in the answer sheet. Tasks with a detailed USE in the second part must contain a complete record of the decision with justification and reasoning. For those who don’t particularly need mathematics, they hand over the base for evaluation.

I am sure that our deputies do not know such details. Why should they? It is not required to press the buttons.

In fact, for me personally, whether the exam is canceled or not is not hot or cold. The daughter has already fired.

The school is a pity with these crazy innovations of the last two years. It would be better if teachers were properly prepared, and not, as they decided now, that students in grades 5-9 will be taught by teachers with vocational school diplomas.

At one time, by the way, I graduated from high school with a silver medal. My daughter is a 2021 100 with two golds. Federal and Moscow.

We both donated literature. I verbally, she’s just the exam. And I can say that she knows literature much better than I do. If only because writing five essays covering the entire course of the school curriculum in four hours is much more difficult than writing one on a free topic.

My daughter intensively studied with a tutor for six months. Three times a week.

In my opinion, she did not overcome only “Quiet Don”. Everything else I knew by heart. Because hoping for a chance in her case is much more difficult. Five compositions in any way more than one.

English (91 points) later after school, the daughter passed to level B2. In general, passing the exam in English is really very tough and hard.

Because in front of you is a car – and not people who can be taken by charm and pity. Listening, reading, translation, speaking. And a written essay. And, as far as I remember, it was still necessary to use synonyms of some words, never repeating. And no spelling mistakes.

Every year, the exam became more and more complicated. That was the problem. The more amateurs of various levels criticized this exam, not understanding it much, the more methodologists clutched their heads and thought. How? Is that really too easy?! Let’s tighten the screws even more.

It was a real slice of knowledge, and at an advanced level. On the contrary, it should have been simplified, not complicated. It doesn’t tick boxes. With squares and ticks on the same literature, it seems to me that there are only 4 or 5 questions, with the help of which you will not overcome the minimum barrier. And they are inserted for the sole purpose – to calm the students and put their thoughts in order. Clearly allocate time, structure knowledge, learn to use certain algorithms when solving problems – that’s what the USE was for. Which in its own way just reflects the worldview and way of thinking of the current 18-year-olds.

The exam may not be liked by those who do not know anything and do not want to know about it. Well, populists, of course.

I remember how one very well-known deputy also proved to me two years ago that his friends, his son, had a question about “the color of the eyes of Vronsky’s horse” at the Unified State Examination. This is a bearded meme that has been circulating on the Internet for ten years already, but it turned out to be impossible to convince the people’s choice that this is a fake.

We have also canceled the Bologna system, and instead introduced exactly the same, but three-stage. Instead of a bachelor’s degree, now it seems like a base. Master’s degree will become a specialty. Needless to say, a grandiose reform. Plus, the diplomas of Russian graduates will no longer be quoted at the world level. This, of course, is important.

Just in order to cancel something old, you must first come up with something of your own, new and improved. But this is just not there.

In fact, the USE in Russia is the best that the education system could offer in the 21st century. And to return to the archaic of the 19th and 20th centuries, to paper tickets and the hope that it will blow over – why?

Let’s bring back sticks instead of computers. “Domostroy” has already been proposed to be included in the program of schools.

As one famous movie hero said: it is easy to get rid of the old, but it is difficult to build a new one, and even very quickly. Especially amateurs.
