In Russia, the number of hospitalizations with COVID-19 increased by 246% per day

In Russia, 13,970 cases of coronavirus infection were registered over the past day. This is 10.7% less than the day before (15,661) and the minimum since August 3. The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 2506 – 246.1% more than the previous indicator (724), the federal operational headquarters for combating COVID-19 reported.

Regions leading in the number of new cases:

  • St. Petersburg – 1232 (for all time – 1,773,325);
  • Sverdlovsk region – 958 (531,911);
  • Moscow – 880 (3 213 628);
  • Chelyabinsk region – 568 (383,022);
  • Udmurtia – 436 (216 442).

During the day, 109 patients died in Russia, which is 13 people more than yesterday (96). Most of the dead were in Moscow (22) and St. Petersburg (19). The total number of deaths reached 388,404. During the day, 31,509 people recovered, in total – 20,470,552.

7 October Rosstat informed, which will stop publishing operational data on deaths from coronavirus. This decision was made against the backdrop of a decrease in mortality. The next day, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko declaredthat in most regions of Russia the incidence of coronavirus is decreasing, but the situation remains tense.
