In Russia, the number of cases of coronavirus increases for the third day in a row

In Russia, 18,555 new cases of coronavirus infections were registered over the past day, which is 26.76% more than yesterday, August 4 (17,126), informed federal operational headquarters for combating COVID-19. The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 1906, which is 0.52% less than the previous one indicator (1916).

Regions leading in the number of new cases:

  • Moscow – 6149 (2 846 586);
  • St. Petersburg – 2078 (1,562,781);
  • Moscow region – 1683 (1,001,454);
  • Krasnodar Territory – 423 (267,377);
  • Rostov region – 335 (1,001,454).

During the day, 47 patients died, which is three more than yesterday (43). The total number of deaths rose to 382,651. Most deaths from coronavirus were recorded in Moscow (15 cases) and St. Petersburg (7 cases).

According to the results of the last week, the incidence in Russia increased by 68%. Rospotrebnadzor advised persons from vulnerable groups to wear masks in public places.
