In Russia, the incidence of tuberculosis among children has increased in five months

The incidence of tuberculosis among children under 14 years of age increased in Russia in the first five months of 2023. This publication reported “Bear” with reference to the statistics of Rospotrebnadzor.
During this period, tuberculosis was first detected in 703 children, which is 17% more than in 2022. Also, the incidence of tuberculosis of the respiratory organs increased by 19% – 666 cases were detected.
The incidence of hepatitis among children has also increased. The number of cases of acute hepatitis increased by 22% to 398. The incidence of acute hepatitis A increased by 20% to 359 cases, of acute hepatitis B by 100% to 4. The rate of acute hepatitis C decreased by 7%, from 14 to 13 cases.
The number of cases of chronic hepatitis among children increased by 28%, to 122. The incidence of chronic hepatitis C increased by 32%, to 112 cases, chronic hepatitis B – by 11%, to 10 cases.
