The Ministry of Economic Development is developing a draft resolution according to which military personnel will be able to check into hotels using a military ID. This is stated in a letter from the department sent to the first deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova. TASS reviewed the document.

According to the letter, the military ID is planned to be included in the list of consumer identification documents required for check-in at the hotel. It is noted that we are talking about military ID cards for soldiers, sailors, warrant officers, and midshipmen. In addition, the list intends to include a personal electronic card and a certificate that replaces a military ID for those undergoing military service.

Earlier, Yana Lantratova, together with Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Sholban Kara-ool, approached Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko with such an initiative. The deputies also proposed amending the Administrative Code, according to which refusal to provide hotel services to a military personnel without legal grounds will entail a fine of 100 thousand rubles. for officials and from 500 thousand for legal entities.
