In Russia, GDP growth amounted to 4.6% – Kommersant

GDP growth in January 2024 amounted to 4.6% after an increase of 4.4% in December 2023, follows from data Ministry of Economy. Compared to the level of the same period in 2022, GDP increased by 1.9%.
The department also notes an increase in industrial production of 4.6% compared to an increase of 2.7% in December. The materials of the Ministry of Economic Development say that the acceleration is associated with the restoration of growth rates in the manufacturing sector.
According to the department’s forecast from September 2023, in 2024 GDP growth is expected to be 2.3%. From the Central Bank’s forecast from the beginning of February it follows that the regulator expects GDP growth to be 1.4%. According to the results of the first quarter, GDP growth, according to the Central Bank’s forecast, will be 4.3%.
