In Russia, a unified ban on noise at home will be determined

On Monday, October 23, a revised draft law on silence will be presented to the State Duma, the Izvestia newspaper reports. This bill seeks to introduce uniform rules that are currently missing, including a noise ban between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
The document also defines a single time for noisy construction work – from 9:00 to 19:00 only on weekdays, with a mandatory break from 13:00 to 15:00.
In addition, the changes are expected to affect compliance with the law itself. Residents will have the right to elect a responsible person at meetings, who will be able to draw up reports of violations of the law and submit them to law enforcement agencies.
Lawmakers are also proposing the introduction of fines for violators. For the first offense, citizens face a fine of 500 to 2 thousand rubles, for officials – from 5 thousand to 10 thousand rubles, and for legal entities – from 20 thousand to 50 thousand rubles.
LDPR Chairman Leonid Slutsky said: “We are not proposing a fight against stomping cats. People should have the opportunity to relax comfortably after a working day, without having to listen to loud neighbors. Our bill creates all the necessary legal mechanisms.”
