In Russia, for the first time, a sentence was passed in a case of “treason” against an 18-year-old citizen who, at the time of his minority, was convicted of transferring data about one of the military units of Maykop to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Supreme Court of the Republic of Adygea found him guilty and sentenced him to four years in prison with restriction of freedom for a period of one year. He will serve the main term in a general regime colony.
At the same time, the court applied Article 64 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which allows for a more lenient punishment than provided for such a crime.
During the trial, the accused fully admitted his guilt and repented.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
