The State Duma has been proposed to prohibit registration on Russian websites using foreign electronic mail services. This follows from the draft amendments to the laws “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection” and “On Communications”, prepared by the State Duma deputy from United Russia Anton Gorelkin. The amendments were published in the electronic database of parliamentary bills on July 20, along with a positive conclusion of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, signed by its leader Alexander Khinshtein (also United Russia). On July 25, the bill will be considered in the second reading, follows from the information on the website of the Duma. If adopted, the document will enter into force on December 1, 2023.
