In Roslavl, a trail race called “Tsar of Burtseva Gora”. This is a run along a natural terrain with cross-country elements. The competition is being held for the third time and has managed to fall in love not only with the residents of Roslavl, but also with athletes from neighboring cities who take part in it with pleasure.
The relief of Burtseva Gora is the best suited for holding such competitions, because it rises above the city, from the south and west there is a deep moat, and from the north and east – the high banks of the Stanovka River.
This year, about 50 people aged 10 to 60 took part in the race. The youngest participants in the race had to overcome a distance of 500 meters, adults – up to 7.5 kilometers.
This year, due to the weather, the track turned out to be very slippery, which added to the extreme. However, despite the difficult terrain and weather conditions, Burtseva Gora submitted to the athletes.
From the first meters, Vladislav Maksyuta, an employee of the penal colony No. 6 of the UFSIN in the Smolensk region, took the leading position at the longest distance. He won, breaking away from the nearest pursuer for as much as 25 seconds.
All participants of the competition received personalized certificates and memorable gifts. But the main reward for everyone who was not afraid to test their strength on a slippery winter track was a good mood and positive emotions.
According to Vladislav, he takes part in the trail race “Tsar of Burtseva Gora” for the second time. Having become a silver medalist in 2022, he set himself the goal of conquering the track without fail, which he eventually achieved.
It is worth noting that in the winter of 2021, when the “Tsar of Burtseva Gora” competitions were held in Roslavl for the first time, Denis Galitsky, a representative of correctional colony No. 6, also became their winner. Then he turned out to be the best in the most massive nomination of the race at a distance of 4.5 kilometers.
