In the Primorsky Territory, additional measures are being introduced to protect critical facilities. The decision on this was made today, March 16, at a meeting of the regional anti-terrorist commission chaired by Governor Oleg Kozhemyako.
Particular attention, as reported in the press service of the government of Primorye, was decided to be paid to the protection of transport and communal infrastructure, energy enterprises and the military-industrial complex “from encroachment using unmanned aerial vehicles.” According to Mr. Kozhemyako, “key facilities” must be secured with “special equipment to counter drones.” “All objects of vital activity of the population must be provided with such means,”— declared governor. What kind of equipment in question is not specified in the message.
On February 1, Governor Kozhemyako signed resolution on the ban on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the territory of the region.
“A ban has been introduced on the use of drones for domestic purposes – for personal aerial photography, filming private events. This measure is primarily necessary to ensure the safety of citizens, the life of the region, and to prevent the commission of sabotage and terrorist acts using unmanned aerial vehicles,”— explained Oleg Ilyin, Head of the Anti-Terrorism Legislation Enforcement Department of the Government of the Region.
